Navigation by aka Deb

Jump for Joy, we've spotted the buoy,
check its shape and colour;
if it's a cone we're leaving home,
if it's not it's the other.

Check the light marks in the dark
and carefully keep them in line;
A straight line of sight, not left or right, a transit will do just fine.

Check the depth of water, more than you oughta,
Insufficient care can catch you out;
touching the bar or drying bank with a jar
leaves your seamanship skills in grave doubt.

Where's that light in the middle of the night,
count the flashes and pauses;
If the colour's white, the sector's right,
we'll soon be closing front doorsies.

Thanks to aka Debbie.

With these favourable Easterlies we're passage planning for Wick tomorrow and on to the Orkney's over the weekend.
